New York State Military Museum (Saratoga Springs, NY) – May 2015

This museum opened after I left the area, so I don’t feel guilty about not visiting it when I lived here.  The building was something I always saw, and once I realized it was now something open to the public it was nice to get over there.  Any military engagement which New York took part in was represented here.  This was a nice little bit of regional history to check out.

Saratoga Battlefield (Saratoga National Historic Park; Stillwater, NY) – May 2015

The area where I grew up was full of local history, most of during America’s War for Independence and the era predating that.  Because this area is rich in these historical places, you should always take the opportunity to visit them.  Yeah, you might go on a school trip or with a social club when you’re younger, but seeing them again as an adult so you can really appreciate them is strongly suggested.  The original blog entry details the visit quite well, and now you get to enjoy all the pictures I took on the visit.
