Bennington Museum (Bennington, VT) – May 2015

Growing up in this region, there’s a lot of historical things around that can easily get overlooked.  The Bennington Museum is an overlooked place which was worth checking out.  It has a lot of local history of the area, including the Battle of Bennington which was fought here in 1777.  The original blog entry has all the detail of the visit.  This is another reminder that whether you’re a resident or just a visitor passing through, take some time and check out the local attractions.  You’ll never know what interesting things you’ll fine.

Sugar Shack and Norman Rockwell Exhibit (Arlington, VT) – May 2015

Honestly, there wasn’t a lot here, comparatively speaking.  Yes, there are a lot of works of Norman Rockwell here, and it’s was certainly worth the stop.  But it will take you probably no more than an hour to go through and look at everything.  I just felt that it should get its own entry due to the impact Rockwell’s work had on American life.  And as a reminder that when you see one of these little roadside attractions, check them out.

Hildene: The Lincoln Family Home (Manchester, VT) – May 2015

This was one of the places I went to when I was much younger, and didn’t appreciate it for what it was.  Didn’t have a lot of time on the first visit either, so then I wasn’t able to soak in the full aspect.  That’s one reason why you should revisit places, especially with the time to absorb it, so you do appreciate it.  The original blog entry gave good details on this, so no need to repeat it here.
