Bell Rock and Cathedral Rock (Sedona, AZ) – August 2008

I originally posted some of these pictures with a travel blog write-up (and the link to the original was below).  I decided I wanted to share all the pictures I took of a particular area of point of interest, so some of these you will have seen before if you’ve been following this blog for a bit.  The link below gives more of the details, so I’m not going to rehash them here.  You’ll see that as I’d gotten a digital camera around this time, the number of pictures of an area has increased.

As it was noted in the blog, I had one day to hike in Sedona, so I went for as many trails as I could.  Essentially I did a loop or portion enough to mark it off on the “done” list.  I did two trails before breakfast, two after breakfast, and then two after lunch.  I’d started on the location farthest south and worked my way northward so the last trail would be closest to get back to Flagstaff.  Beyond enjoying the pictures, I don’t know what else to say about these.  Exept that these are places you should visit if you ever have the opportunity.

Oak Creek Canyon (Between Sedona and Flagstaff, AZ) – August 2008

I originally posted some of these pictures with a travel blog write-up (and the link to the original was below).  I decided I wanted to share all the pictures I took of a particular area of point of interest, so some of these you will have seen before if you’ve been following this blog for a bit.  The link below gives more of the details, so I’m not going to rehash them here.  You’ll see that as I’d gotten a digital camera around this time, the number of pictures of an area has increased.

I drove to Sedona taking this road which has a lot of switchbacks and a rapid elevation change.  Since I’d seen a look-out point, it made sense to hit that on the way back to Flagstaff.  The look-out point clocks in at over 6400 feet above sea level, and the terrain reflects that more of Flagstaff than the red desert rocks of Sedona.  This is a huge valley, and the view was great.  As you thumb through the pictures, you’ll see some where two or three portions of the road were visible (at clearly different heights).  That was an awesome drive to do, but suggest to accomplish it only during daylight hours.

Pink Jeep Tour (Sedona, AZ) – August 2008

I originally posted some of these pictures with a travel blog write-up (and the link to the original was below).  I decided I wanted to share all the pictures I took of a particular area of point of interest, so some of these you will have seen before if you’ve been following this blog for a bit.  The link below gives more of the details, so I’m not going to rehash them here.  You’ll see that as I’d gotten a digital camera around this time, the number of pictures of an area has increased.

While there are a number of great hiking trails in Sedona, and lots of interesting places to see, one good way to enjoy the harder-to-reach ones was to take a Pink Jeep Tour.  Letting someone do the driving allows you to traverse these roads you’d probably bottom-out on, so you get to spend all your time enjoying the scenery.  And there were various stops where you got to walk around and have picture opportunities.  No matter which one you do, every Pink Jeep Tour was worth the money.
