I originally posted some of these pictures with a travel blog
write-up (and the link to the original was below). I decided I wanted to share all the pictures
I took of a particular area of point of interest, so some of these you will
have seen before if you’ve been following this blog for a bit. The link below gives more of the details, so
I’m not going to rehash them here.
You’ll see that as I’d gotten a digital camera around this time, the
number of pictures of an area has increased.
I drove to Sedona taking this road which has a lot of switchbacks
and a rapid elevation change. Since I’d
seen a look-out point, it made sense to hit that on the way back to
Flagstaff. The look-out point clocks in
at over 6400 feet above sea level, and the terrain reflects that more of
Flagstaff than the red desert rocks of Sedona.
This is a huge valley, and the view was great. As you thumb through the pictures, you’ll see
some where two or three portions of the road were visible (at clearly different
heights). That was an awesome drive to
do, but suggest to accomplish it only during daylight hours.
