There was no blog entry which went to this one, as it was just a collection of pictures from when I went to visit the Lake Travis area (behind Mansfield Dam), northwest of Austin. You can see the lighter-colored parts of the shore are what is normally below the water line. As the drought had been going on for a couple years now, those newly-exposed areas started to have some vegetation growing on them. Just some interesting pictures which captured a moment in time.

Leaving Paradise (St. Croix, US Virgin Islands) – June 2014
Because my flight out only gave me one option for my last day, that meant I had the morning to stroll the beach and spend some time soaking up the sun before getting cleaned up and checking out of my hotel. I snapped my last few pictures of the area, and then took a bunch from the plane flying back home. Lots and lots of blue.

Strolling Around Christiansted (St. Croix, US Virgin Islands) – June 2014
On my last full day on the island, I sat on the beach for a bit in the morning, but wanted to get out and be physical. I went down to the larger (and nicer) of the two towns on the island – Christiansted. I tooled around here a bit on the first visit, but this I wandered around the fort area and the boardwalk. I figured I could catch up some nice rays that way. The rest of the afternoon was being social, so I didn’t take any pictures. But I came back to my resort for some more beach time, a good dinner, and some final rum punches (as I was departing the next day).
