 Not much of a place to visit, but just an interesting item I stumbled across.  The original blog post has pretty extensive detail on the encounter, so there’s no need to repeat essentially the same information here.  But still just a nice reminder to be aware of your surroundings as you never know what cool things you might encounter.

Mayborn Planetarium (Killeen, TX) – May 2013

 It’s good to keep checking to see what’s in your area, as there’s always something which you might’ve missed.  I’ll say there was never much in Killeen to start with which made me want to visit the area, so I’d overlooked this for years.  This was more of a “space theatre” than a “planetarium,” but it was a good start.  The video presentations were good, as we saw two of them, but there weren’t many exhibits to look at in-between.  Overall, it was a good way to spend an hour or two.

St. Croix – The Final Day (U.S. Virgin Islands) – August 2012

 After some last minute exploring, I spent as much of the last day on the beach that I could so I could increase my “tan content” before leaving.  Sitting on the beach is nice, but I’d rather be a bit more active.  Walking the beach was nicer.  I saw a stray cat briefly at one point, but the rest of this was winding down the vacation mode so I could travel back home the next day.  I enjoyed my time there.
