So after enjoying the air show, I took the time to explore the Military Forces Museum which was on base. I had made a brief visit once before, but today I had the time to really soak in the exhibits. There were things specific to what the Texas regiments did, like the Allied invasion of Italy during World War Two (the Battle of Salerno), as well as more-recent involvements in the Iraq War. A nice treat was a section of the Berlin Wall too. Also there were vehicles used by the Texas National Guard. This was something which was open year-round, so you can always go over to check it out.
