Windy Point at Lake Travis (Texas Hill Country) – August 2014

There was no blog entry for this one either.  I was invited to a pre-Labor Day party, and was told to go to Windy Point.  That’s one of the cove areas on Lake Travis behind Mansfield Dam.  I got to the picnic area, and no one was there.  I called my friend who invited me, and she said they were down at the shore.  I was instructed to drive my car down the boat ramp, and across the packed dunes in order to get to where the gathering was.  We sat in lawn or camp chairs partially in the water, drinking beer, soaking up some sun, and generally chillin’ out.  You see the picture of our gathering, and the empty blue chair to the right was mine (as I obviously took the picture).  The thing to keep in mind was where we were sitting was normally thirty-feet below water.  Because of the drought, you could see how much the water levels had dropped.
