The last part of the business trip had us staying in Thousand Oaks, so other than the places we stopped to eat I didn’t get to see much of what the area had to offer. The final day we drove to Venice Beach to loiter before our flight a bit, as my then-boss wanted to pick up some stuff for her kids. It was a clear example of the “Los Angeles weirdness” you’d always see on television. While there were strange people out and about, I stayed close to beach to enjoy that. Besides, that was far more interesting to take pictures of than the burn-outs who inhabited Venice Beach. I know on subsequent visits I’ll get to explore a bit more around my work duties.
