Downtown San Antonio (San Antonio, Texas) – March 2003

 I originally posted some of these pictures with a travel blog write-up (and the link to the original was below).  I decided I wanted to share all the pictures I took of a particular area of point of interest, so some of these you will have seen before if you’ve been following this blog for a bit.

 The link below gives more of the details, so I’m not going to rehash them here.  But suffice to say here’s what happens when a group of Yankees decide to explore a southern city.  This had only been my second time to San Antonio, so I was still learning my way around the area.  Still, you could tell by the pictures we had a lot of goof fun.

Mansfield Dam (Austin, Texas) – March 2003

 The link below gives more of the details, so I’m not going to rehash them here.  But as my parents and some other relatives came down, when we started the driving trip this was the first place I took them too.  It gave us a chance to stand around and look at the terrain, and as you could see by the pics, good off a bit.  There were a few other places we pulled off in addition to Mansfield Dam proper to get some of the pictures.

Empire State Building (New York City) – June 2002

 I originally posted some of these pictures with a travel blog write-up (and the link to the original was below).  I decided I wanted to share all the pictures I took of a particular area of point of interest, so some of these you will have seen before if you’ve been following this blog for a bit.

 By this time, I knew I’d be moving to Texas soon, so I was taking the opportunity to visit some relatively close-by people and places before they became too far away.  Part of that was going up to the top of the Empire State Building.  Usually when I’m at a high place, I’d try to get a picture from every compass direction as I could.  Here was the best I could do, given the crowds and such.  To the east is the United Nations building.  To the north is Central Park.  To the west was Madison Square Garden.  And to the south was the clump of buildings where the World Trade Center had once stood.
