Veteran's Memorial Park and Rattan Creek Park (Cedar Park and Austin, TX) -- April and October 2017

Since there were two nice parks that had similar themes going on, I put them together in one post.  The first was Veteran's Memorial Park in Cedar Park, and the pictures were taken in April 2017.  I was there do a 5k race, and upon my first time in the area, had to take some snaps.  There's a nice dog park attached to this, but the real reason to come is the item the park is named after.

While I was at HEB Center in Cedar Park in September for one my races, I took this nice sunrise picture.  I decided to add it here for good measure.

I'd heard about a 5k race happening at Rattan Creek Park, and when I learned of the event it was too late to register.  Still, since I realized this place was so close, I needed to go over and check it out.  What a surprise to learn this was the greenbelt that I took Stoop to every weekend during 2005-2006.  We stuck to the fence line, and were never on the trail itself, so that's probably why I didn't recognize it.  When I stumbled upon this interesting part, I knew that wasn't there previously.  This was a nice fine, both the memorial and having a place to regularly get some extra steps in now.
