Monuments of Our Capitol (Washington, DC) – July 2007

 My Mum took these pictures when she visited the area.  Our nations’ capitol has a number of great monuments honoring historical people of high caliber.  These include the Washington Monument (complete with reflecting pool), the memorials to Lincoln and Jefferson, and the remembrance wall for the soldiers killed in Vietnam.  Even the Capitol Building itself hold particular significance.  These are important things if you have the opportunity to visit them, you should do so.  This is especially true today (as I write this over a decade later) as the Socialist Fascists are on the rise in our country which want to erase the deeds of these great individuals from history.  No matter what your political leanings may be, you should always honor and remember history, as well as the trials and tribulations, and good and the bad, because it’s the greatest treasure we have.  It should be protected at all costs.
