My Mum took these pictures. One the staples of the Adirondack Region is the Balloon Festival, which is held in the Autumn. I remember going back in the 1970’s when they lifted off from the campus of Adirondack Community College, and then later from the Glens Falls Airport. They still lift off from the airport now. The best time to go was early in the morning to watch them being inflated, and you had the majesty of seeing them all lift off at once. With dozens of balloons there, you’ll always be able to find ones you like, and others which return every year. When you’re in the area, it’s worth getting up early to go to this.
