I originally posted some of these pictures with a travel blog
write-up (and the link to the original was below). I decided I wanted to share all the pictures
I took of a particular area of point of interest, so some of these you will
have seen before if you’ve been following this blog for a bit. The link below gives more of the details, so
I’m not going to rehash them here.
Put this in a “point of interest” to visit. The city of Round Rock was called that
because of a water-crossing on the Chisholm Trail was marked by a
particular-shaped rock which was used to gauge the depth. While the city built up around it, I’m sure
most of the locals weren’t even aware of the existence of this. Most probably just drove past it every day
and never even noticed it. The park had
just been created to honor that historical aspect (so at the time there wasn’t
much there). If you’re in the area, just
take a few minutes and stop by.
