I originally posted some of these pictures with a travel blog
write-up (and the link to the original was below). I decided I wanted to share all the pictures
I took of a particular area of point of interest, so some of these you will
have seen before if you’ve been following this blog for a bit. The link below gives more of the details, so
I’m not going to rehash them here.
You’ll see that as I’d gotten a digital camera around this time, the
number of pictures of an area has increased.
The blog entry which is linked below only captures the tiniest
fraction of the visit to the Grand Canyon.
Keep in mind, this was the number one item on my Bucket List. I’d set aside an entire day to visit this
place with the idea I’d do some hiking, but keeping it flexible to see what was
presented to me. When I was researching
the trip, I realized that if I’d gone directly north from the Planes of Fame
Air Museum, that would’ve brought me to the “Grand Canyon Village,” but that
was only a small fraction of this. I
wanted to see as much as possible.
Since I learned there was an eastern entrance to the park that
would be where I came in. I had the idea
I’d move westward from that point, stopping at various points of the Canyon
along the way. As I do so, I was able to
take various pictures of the Canyon in shadow, as the Sun was still low in the
sky. While these are awesome pictures,
they’re no substitute for the majesty of the real thing.
