I originally posted some of these pictures with a travel blog write-up (and the link to the original was below). I decided I wanted to share all the pictures I took of a particular area of point of interest, so some of these you will have seen before if you’ve been following this blog for a bit.
During 1996 there were two weekend trips made to Lake Placid. When a place is a short drive away, and there’s interesting things to see, it makes sense to go. During the winter you got to watch athletes use the facilities as a training center so they could go on to bigger events. During the fall, peak foliage time is great. But if you up past that (as I did), the training center technically hasn’t opened for the winter events yet. It was fun to walk around the empty places, like the bobsled chute without any ice in it.
