Bonneville Salt Flats (Nevada) – September 2008

My Mum took these pictures.  I’d been here in 2004 and showed Mum all the pictures I’d taken of the area.  She was happy to now have finally seen this for herself.  She remembered seeing the “art piece” Tree of Life which looked like a bunch of tennis balls on a pole from my pictures.  A lot of the family was out in Nevada for a reunion, and one of the side trips they took was over here.  The Bonneville Salt Flats are the remnants of an ancient lake, and is the largest salt flat west of Salt Lake City.  Quite frequently it would be used as a place for racing (thus a section known as the Bonneville Speedway).  It would be something to see a race happen here.
