Lamoille Canyon (Elko County, Nevada) – September 2008

My Mum took these pictures.  This is a 12 mile canyon which exists within the Ruby Mountains of northern Nevada.  My parents (and many of the extended family) were out that way visiting the “western cousins” and got to go on a tour of some of the points of interest in the area.  They just drove around the area, as opposed to doing an actual hike in.  Other than Uncle Earl, no one had the inclination to have done it.  Earl would’ve done it anyway, as that was the type of person he was.  I would’ve gone with him, as I’d enjoy that challenge.  Still, looking at the pictures was fabulous, as these are not “large mountains” in the area (considering the vicinity of the Rockies).
